I guess there must be something wrong with my "listening" comprehension too. Cult? what cult??

We have the President of the United States today tweeting his own contrived conspiracy about the deaths of close to 3,000 people... and you bring up Obama. No response from you about Captain Cheeto. Unbelievable.

^ Fair point lol.

Refuses to address that. Even DeSantis explicitly refuted the president today.

I just went into Facebook to get a ridiculous picture I saw someone post the other day.  I noticed it came from a page called Daily Vine.  I made the mistake of heading over there.  The ignorance is astounding.

Here's a sample of some comments on a Nike meme of Obama claiming he "ruined the country's economy for 8 years and now wants to take credit for all the great things Trump has done"...

"He complained for 8 years that it was Bush's fault, so how come Trump could make such progress in less that 2! What the he'll did so many of the last presidents do to get so little done!"

"he is a piece of tihs"

"Barack Obumfuck: Please go away, get out of my life, crawl off in a corner and die. Don't care how you do it, I'm just sick of seeing your face and hearing your lying voice.thank you!!"

"When he took office so many people lost their homes to the economy! It took years to recover for many people. Worst years ever to have to live though."

"That is one big set of ear's"
    "Looks like a chimp..LOL"
"now you've done it!!!!! You are not even aloud to think the name monkey!!!!!"
    "they match his mouth."

"He proves himself to be an even bigger POS each and every day. Of course, Soros is probably still paying him."

"I think.great. He talking like fk,n tool it means he know his legacy will go down in history as a total failure in 49 days"

"Trump did a lot more in his first year as President than Obama did in the eight years that he was President. Obama sucks!!!!"

"...You left out nearly DOUBLING the national debt, imposing socialist handout health care that will burden taxpayers for decades to come, allowing QUEERS to use the bathroom of their choice, ALLOWING QUEER "MARRIAGE," and demoralizing our military with your hatred of it..."

"So typical of this Lying Bl*ck Isl*mist !!!"

"Lair leave America you are not President anymore you never support America"

"We know the economy has exceeded any thing Obama ever acheived. We know Obama himself laughed at the idea of reaching 4% gdp.He was right on that however as long as he was president."

(On that last point, there were multiple quarters during Obama's presidency where GDP growth exceeded 4.1%, including one where it exceeded 5%.)

So much dumb.  I think misspellings and horrible grammar are requirements to be a Trump supporter.  I don't know how I made it scrolling that far.  And for anything that thinks I just cherry-picked, I copied over 50% of the posts I came across until I stopped scrolling.

Another weird thing about that picture is that the visual perspective puts Trump at about 4 ft tall.  Very creepy all around.

Trump is now denying 3,000 Americans died in Puerto Rico.  Says it's a hoax created by the Democrats.

Screw it, I’m furious and looking for a fight.

Defend this @Ram23 @eastvillagedon @MikeInCanton

Our own government released these numbers after exhaustive search and rescue efforts on the islands as well as new numbers from hospitals that had previously been cut off from communication with other parts of the island.

This is Sandy Hook denial level crap.

This really gets down to the core question of what does it mean for someone to be killed in a disaster? If your home floods and you drown, or wind destroys it and you die in the collapse - the hurricane was at fault. If you die 4 months later because the water FEMA delivered to your location was stockpiled on a runway somewhere because your local government was too corrupt and/or inept to deliver it the last mile... was the hurricane really the root cause?

Remember, no one is saying there aren't 1000 bodies (the 3000 number is still a huge outlier, mind you). The question is what's the real cause. Sometimes it takes Trump's patented rhetorical style to get people to have these difficult conversations.

Lol, what? What are you on about? The government failed to respond appropriately, causing those deaths. Trump isn't arguing some idiotic semantics.

But blaming it on Puerto Rico, after being ravished by a hurricane, being physically incapable of delivering those supplies the last mile is exactly the type of response we'd expect from you.

If the people were actually killed in the disaster then it wouldn't really be an issue of government response.  The government response is what cause the deaths following the hurricane.  It is better to accept responsibility and learn to do a better job next time than to delude yourself into thinking you did a good job.

Can't we just look at death records for the past year and compare them with the average over the previous 5 years? Wouldn't that give us a good idea of how many more people died in Puerto Rico due to the storm and its aftermath?

That number wouldn't tell us how each of them died (was it drowning, buiding collapse, disease, heat death, lack of medication, etc), but it would give us a good estimate to what the real number was.

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/14/ex-trump-campaign-boss-paul-manafort-has-plea-deal-with-mueller-reports.html

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort reportedly reaches tentative plea deal with special counsel Robert Mueller

Quote
A deal between Manafort and Mueller would bring to an end the long running charges involving one of President Donald Trump's top advisors during the 2016 campaign. It was not clear Friday morning whether any deal would involve cooperation in any potential case against the president.

Neither CNBC nor NBC News has independently confirmed the reports of a deal. A representative for the special counsel declined to comment.

There have been some suggestions that the two parties were nearing a deal. A hearing was set for 11 a.m. ET Friday. Earlier in the week, it was reported that Manafort was in talks with Mueller ahead of the trial but was resistant to the idea of providing information about Trump.

Things continue to get interesting.

I'm still skeptical of this. If I were his lawyer I would leak the hell out of this to see if it solicits a response re: pardon - and I suspect that may be what's happening.

I'm not certain what motivation he has to take a plea now that the rest of his life will be spent in jail anyways.

He won't be able to reduce his sentence in the first case because 1) It wasn't Mueller's team prosecuting, 2) it was fully adjudicated, 3) it was a different court with a different judge.

But yeah, you are right with re: to the 5th Amendment. I just don't see any of this being enough to compel a plea.

Politico is reporting the plea calls for a 10-year cap on his prison sentence, with the VA verdict and DC plea being served concurrently.  Up to the judge to decide.

Can't believe Mueller would let him off the hook like that without getting something in return.  Manafort was looking at hundreds of years in prison.

Let's see.... The original indictment had 12 Counts. There were only 2 counts in the criminal information filed by Mueller this morning to which Manafort pleaded guilty. You have to give something to get something. So what is Manafort giving Mueller?

Again, as much as I'd love to see the ostrich-wearing turd sit in jail, this isn't necessarily true.

Prosecutors often have a lot to gain through offering pleas beyond simply cooperation. For one, judicial economy - Mueller has a lot of plates on the stove right now, and gaining two guilty pleas for the most substantive counts will save hundreds of hours in preparation.

Easy. Remind them they possess free will and inform them that God must be dead if Trump is alive.
