this picture shows what a true iconoclast Trump is. It's about time we had a President who can think outside the box.

So much of what President Trump has said about our international relations over the last couple of weeks has actual merit. China does game the open international system to benefit itself at the expense of free market nations everywhere. European nations do skimp on national defense spending while maintaining generous social safety nets, meanwhile letting the US pick up the slack with its *massive* military budget and infrastructure. Regarding foreign affairs, this administration constantly reaches a correct conclusion, only to go about dealing with it in the most asinine, irresponsible way possible. It really speaks volumes about the total lack of foreign policy experience and understanding at the White House.

If that’s not the “I just sharted face” I don’t know what is. I also think you’re using the word “think” too liberal here.

Not necessarily at the White House in general, but at the top.   It's what you would expect when the "leader" knows how to pick solid people and/or those who can, but "the buck stops" at someone who is moody, petulant, and loses focus.   This is consistent with his USSC picks and Mattis:  where he knows he doesn't know  (or has no control after the appointment), it goes well.

Pres. Trump has just landed in the UK where he’ll face multiple mass protests, including a women’s march and a ‘Together Against Trump’ rally. ‘I think they like me a lot in the UK,’ Trump said Thursday, but he’s almost entirely avoiding London. After he meets with Prime Minister Theresa May, he heads to a Trump golf property in Scotland.

As our President readies an all-out attack on NATO on behalf of Putin, remember this:

Trump's biggest peeve with NATO is that the majority of member states don't spend the targeted 2% of their GDP on their militaries (only 5 countries do). If he gets what he wants out of NATO, it will be significantly more powerful than it currently is, as all of its member states will have larger forces. That in no way helps Russia.

Keep in mind, that aside from Trump's rhetoric, he's at least asked the NATO members to step up & meet their obligations on defense spending.  Obama never asked.  And since asking, several countries have pledged to do more.

There is no obligation for any nation to spend 2% of GDP on defense.  It is not true in the least.  There is a guideline but no obligation.  Furthermore, Obama had pressed countries to increase their defense spending.  Here is some information:

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/26/world/europe/nato-trump-spending.html

So Obama & others brought it up but nothing happened.  So back to NATO, what exactly was their response when Russia annexed Crimea???

I fail to see how increased military spending by NATO members helps Russia in any way....

Obama brought up the 2% goal and the members agreed to get to 2% by 2024.  We need to start with facts.

I've represented a few of these women recently. It rarely happens, but CPD Vice has cited quite a few women over the last few months.

According to NPR, the U.S. actually pays about 22 percent of the $2.8 billion in annual NATO expenses. Our portion is roughly 616 million.

And the geniuses at Faux news:

In an on-screen graphic titled “U.S. Contributions To NATO in 2018,” Fox News claimed that $706.1 billion was paid to the military alliance when in fact, that is the total U.S. military budget.

Minutes after Fox News made the erroneous claim, President Donald Trump held a news conference where he wrongly asserted that the U.S. has been funding “probably 90 percent of the costs of NATO.”

http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/396628-trump-calls-himself-a-stable-genius

Quote
Trump was asked during a press conference if he will take to his Twitter page while boarding Air Force One and send out his own comments after meeting with international leaders.

“No, that’s other people that do that,” Trump said. “I don’t. I’m very consistent.”

“I’m a very stable genius,” the president added.

No stable genius in history has constantly said they are a stable genius.

From the House circus - hearing - of Strzok.  Look at all those witches caught up in the witch hunt so far....

Another funny graphic....

Peter Strzok absolutely destroyed Trey Gowdy today and it's the most beautiful thing you'll ever watch.
https://twitter.com/RVAwonk/status/1017450409974272000

If you think Strzok wanted to use the Russia investigation to hamper Trump's political chances, it's very hard to explain why Strzok didn't use the investigation to hamper Trump's political chances. https://t.co/D0wmWGJgx6

What the hell is this ridiculous hearing I am watching?this is nonsense and a complete waste of time and money. where are the hearings on this children we kidnapped?

Republican hypocrisy is ridiculous today. GOP has until 5pm to tell me why I can’t release Peter Strzok’s closed-door transcript. If they don’t, @RepRaskin and I are going to send to DOJ to scrub for sensitive info and then release it when it’s ready.

UPDATE: Republicans couldn’t find an excuse to stop us from releasing the Strzok transcript. Sending to DOJ for redactions and will release as soon as it’s available.
