Euclid - The Abandoned Hillandale Bridge
« on: September 25, 2012, 03:25:21 PM »
I was browsing on the Cleveland Memory Project website when I cam across this bridge:

Being that it's in my neighborhood and I'd never heard of it, I grabbed my son and my camera and went to check it out:

Hope you liked it, it was quite an interesting find for me!

That's cool, but I can't believe the local government left it standing, seems like a huge liability!

Wow, very interesting. So the development site became a park?

There is a proper park there, but the bridge is in the wooded area adjacent to the fenced-off area of the park.  There are trails, though and the bridge actually connects them to the end of Hillandale Dr., allowing you to cross over a watershed.  So it seems intentional, but it's definitely not maintained.

You can just barely see it in Google maps:
