Poll

How many wins do you think the Browns will have in 2018.  Preseason doesn't count.

0 (Another perfect season!)
1-2 (With a high draft pick we can get our quarterback of the future again!)
3-4 (An optimist would see this as a glass 1 quarter full, not 3 quarters empty!)
5-6 (Really do we have to go over .500 to have a "winning season"?)
7-8 (yeah right)
Some other inconcievable number higher than 8

Wasn't there once an option on UO to post a poll?  Or am I thinking of a different forum?

Might be a good time for one of those with the Browns set to kick off tonight.

Ok I wasn't crazy.  I remember seeing quite a few of the season-starting Browns polls.  Tragic!

Veteran Browns fan prediction:

1. Landry catches 54 passes for.....472 yards, 2 tds.
2. Garrett is done by week 4
3. Mayfield shows promise in a week 3 start before getting put into concussion protocol
4. Team is hopeful Gordon can return by week 10
5. Charlie Whitehurst starts week 12
6. Everyone on here swears off following the Browns.....until the 2019 draft rolls around. This could be the year!

Edit: Oh yeah, and 3 wins

Vegas has the O/U on 2018 win total at 4.5 (I thought I saw 5.5 recently, too?).  I'll take the under still.

a strict textualist would say that he hasn't specified a time frame for those six victories though.

Now you're thinking outside the box lol. Traditionally NFL teams only played 6 games a season, so that complicates things. What did YABO mean exactly? From the text it's nearly impossible to know what his intent was. Tough case to decide.

That's not fair, this is our game.

Seriously I'm getting that spider sense that the odds folks are really close to dead on with that 4.5 win prediction.

I know very little about football and casually watch if I'm at a Cleveland pub.

Put me down for 2-14.

I'm in 1-2 category.  So I can be pleasantly surprised, but also leave open the door for having failed to predict true continuing perfection.

Browns roster/talent ARE better this year. If this roster wore any other uniform, it would be getting some love as a playoff contender.

Two things going against it -- 1. Hue Jackson 2. Tough schedule.

Two things that could remedy that -- 1. Todd Haley as a buffer 2. This year's schedule is based on last year's performances.

This is why I don't like to predict the future. So if I were a betting man, I'd bet the same way I invest -- in the competency of the people to get through difficult situations. I believe the Browns now have two QBs who have the mental and physical toughness to overcome adversity. They also have a few other players to get through the tough times -- Landry, Hyde, Ward, Randall, Kendricks and probably others but I don't know enough about them to say whether they have the mental and physical ability to get through big challenges. Still a lot of unknowns on this team that has almost half of its roster new.

Also, I'd like to say this to the "Pumpkinheads" of the world.

We finally have a healthy, competent, talented QB room. Keep it that way, let Baker sit and develop. Lest we forget, the mouthbreather contingent of Browns fans were the entire reason Johnny Manziel went in for Hoyer when we were 7-4.

I don't think NFL teams "earn" certain schedules based on their prior year's performance. They rotate which divisions in each conference they play.

It's easily the best QB room the Browns have had since the savvy veteran Gary Danielson and exciting rookie Bernie Kosar joined Paul McDonald in the QB room of 1985. I was excited then and I'm excited now, but we had an awesome defense then, a very capable head coach and a tremendous running game. What we lacked were quality receivers. We had a hall of fame TE in Ozzie Newsome and a very young Brian Brennan. This year's WRs are much better, the TE group is pretty good, so are the RBs (need to remember how to run-block though), the coach isn't as good but the offensive coordinator Haley is better than Joe Pendry was, but I'm not yet sure how this defense is. There's some very talented people there, to be sure. But they're so young and so new to this team that I have no idea what we've got yet on defense.
