Republican donor kills himself after talking about working with Russian hackers to get Hillary Clinton's emails
Business Insider

Business InsiderJuly 13, 2017

A GOP donor and opposition researcher who said he tried to work with Russian hackers to retrieve deleted emails from a private server used by Hillary Clinton, has died in a suicide, according to public records cited in a Chicago Tribune report.

Peter Smith killed himself days after an interview with The Wall Street Journal in which he said he sought out Russian hackers to try to retrieve some 33,000 deleted Clinton emails and pass them to Michael Flynn, then a campaign adviser to Donald Trump.

Was it really a suicide, though?

^ GOP operatives had him killed because he provided WSJ with proof of willingness to collude.

tunnels????  my transparent, concrete, solar powered wall has been defeated.

Drones. Submarines. Messenger Pigeons. There's an endless number of alternatives to physically walking drugs across the border.

It's not really going to make it any harder to be an illegal immigrant, here, either. It's a horrible waste of resources.

First thing we have to do is make it illegal to be present in the USA (or perhaps individual states) without authorization.

As for drugs, if there's a demand there's a way.

I picture it like in the movies when someone is shot dead and the killer places the gun next to the person's hand, with a suicide note, nearby.

Interesting that, shortly after the email exchange setting up the meeting with the Russian lawyer occurred, Trump publicly stated that he would be speaking all about the Clintons' malfeasance in an upcoming speech. That speech never happened, however it appears that the next shoe to drop is that Trump, in all likelihood, knew about his son's meeting at Trump Tower with the Russian lawyer.

With certain time limited exceptions that only apply to Canadian citizens, it already is illegal to be present in this USA (and all of its states) without some type of authorization.

Is it being suggested that making something illegal with deter people from doing said thing?

This is akin to Trump suggesting that it is time to cutting off welfare for illegal aliens, though that law had been on the books already for 20+

Someone (here, I think) claimed that was not the case and I looked it up.   The law is clear on illegal entry, but illegal residence is vague.   It should be clarified.

^No trump wants Mexico to pay for it.
How much stupidity is there regarding the wall?!  I love Vincente Fox's youtube jousts with trump. Trump missed his calling as a tv huckster.

No, he didn't miss it he just got bored with it.

Trump isn't stupid.  Bombastic, willfully obtuse, and often ill informed, yes.

I have mentioned on a few occasions that I believe The Wall is an idea, not just a physical construct. The physical wall itself is just a component or a manifestation of that idea. Results like this are what I'm talking about - before a single brick was laid, illegal immigration has already dropped an astounding 53% from last year. Trump is building a wall with his words, ideas, and policies:

Border Patrol union chief praises 'miraculous' drop in illegal immigration under Trump

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/border-patrol-union-chief-praises-miraculous-drop-in-illegal-immigration-under-trump/article/2628828

The significant downturn in the number of illegal border crossers between the U.S. and Mexico is "nothing short of miraculous," National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd said on C-SPAN Monday.

"As far as the Trump administration's efforts on immigration, this is something they campaigned heavily on," he said. "At six months, where we are on meeting those promises, we are seeing nothing short of miraculous. If you look at the rhetoric that President Trump has given, it has caused a number of illegal border crossings to go down. We have never seen such a drop that we currently have."

The story about an inconsequential meeting that just won't go away. The 8th person has been listed.  Another Russian that is friends with the oligarch. He's also a money launderer. He set up bank accounts for 2000 Russian companies in Delaware to launder $1.2 billion. Cool guy.
If that isn't enough it sounds like there might be some transcripts released this week or maybe the actual tape according to Louise Mensch. She feels that this information on the meeting was trickled out on purpose to allow the Trumps to make up new stories to further look stupid but also guilty when more information is released.

I thought you were reviewing a Pink Floyd album for a second.

In similar vein, I like what Roger Waters said:

Quote
“It took me a long time to get over my fears,” he wrote in a letter to fans in 2010 explaining why he was resurrecting The Wall tour. “It has occurred to me that maybe the story of my fear and loss with its concomitant inevitable residue of ridicule, shame and punishment, provides an allegory for broader concerns: nationalism, racism, sexism, religion, whatever! All these issues and ’isms are driven by the same fears that drove my young life.”

Ram, Trump himself has said multiple times the wall is not a metaphor but rather a tangible, real, physical, literal construct.

I don't think Trump even has the mental capacity to implement literary devices like 'imagery,' or 'metaphors.' His dumbed down speech is what got 'Murica on board.

Now it is an idea?  It was a metaphor just a few months ago.  How long before it becomes an analogy?

So, in summation:

- Obamacare repeal is dead
- The Iran deal has been re-certified
- No preparations for construction of a border wall have begun
- Hillary has not been assigned a special prosecutor
- Several members of the campaign are facing criminal charges.

#nice.
