1,000-foot water slide to take over Cleveland streets this summer
http://m.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2015/04/08/1000-foot-water-slide-to-take-over-cleveland-streets-this-summer

EDIT: Apparently it's coming to multiple Ohio cities, including Akron.....

The attraction will slide into Cincinnati on June 20 and Youngstown June 27. Stops are also planned for Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton and Toledo, though those dates have not yet been announced.

It's coming to Cincy too. Look up videos of it. It's pretty fantastic. That fee is steep, but really, when else would you ever be able to say you rode a gigantic slip n slide down the middle of a road?

I think that would be pretty cool, but yeah with a tube rental on top of it, better be a good ride. I vote for W. 9th street from Lakeside down to northwest point of the stadium - that might be 6th, not 9th, but you guys know where I mean.

That price also gets you a handful of takeaways.

I bought a three slide pass for Cincy. $35 for something fun and unique isn't too bad in my mind.

^W3rd and E9th are really the only good options I would imagine.

Too bad the Eagle Avenue ramp is gone.

How about the Columbus Road hill in Ohio City?

Judging from the video, they won't use a very steep hill.  I would suggest either the Detroit-Superior Bridge or the Hope Memorial (Lorian-Carneige) Bridge.  They both probably have at least 1000 feet of straight-away incline and no cross-streets to cause major bumps.  Public transit is plentiful in the area and so is parking.  Plus both would give great views of the city.

Or pretty much anywhere west of the Firelands...

I saw a bunch of people in bikinis and swim trunks all over CUF not too long ago, and Jefferson Street (adjacent UC campus) in Cincinnati was closed, so I assumed it was because of this slide.

The attraction will slide into Cincinnati on June 20

Wow... lol

That reminds me of every transit-related headline, explaining that a project was 'derailed.'
