^^There is a never ending supply of curmudgeons who think the country is going to hell in a hand-basket, that the neighborhood used to be nicer/safer, that the NBA/NFL/MLB players of today wouldn't be as good if they played 30 years ago, that America has lost its greatness, etc.  Just like the younger ranks of voters continually replenish, so do the older ranks.  And really, it's that 50-70 age range which tends to be the most angry.  The people above 70 split closer to even I do believe.

A lot of these obese Southern and Appalachian conservatives that loved Trump are going to be straight up dead soon... young. So that bloc of 75-year-old Conservatives that the Right counts on so much aren't going to be alive to vote.

The Baby Boomers who grew up in the suburbs and kept them propagating are all from 55-75.  We have a few more years of the bloc affecting our political life.  I do think the current far right has reason to be concerned as the Millennials and Gen Zs have been flocking to cities, even in traditionally red states.  This will eventually shift the political landscape.

Life expectancy in NYC is almost 4 years longer then, say, Indiana, so there probably is a bit of literal survivor bias in there.

I've noticed that Millennials are starting to become really, really uncool compared to Generation Z.

You've noticed people who are 16 or 17 years old are cooler than some 28 or 30 year olds?  Lol.  Please...do tell.  Where and how are you observing this trend of "coolness" to Gen Z?

For millennials, it was cool to not be cool. But that whole hipster trend is now completely out of style, and undeniably uncool, for real this time. A whole bunch of ~30 year olds are likely stuck being hipsters for life at this point, and they're being ridiculed by tweens who have returned to more traditional (actual) pursuits of coolness. A lot of the  millennial political platform is decidedly uncool (social issues, whiny protests, self-aggrandizing social media presence, etc.), which is part of the driving force behind Gen Z's shift to a more laissez-faire political view.

I still see a lot of bad beards on the Gen Zs -- at least the ones that are old enough to grow ones. Of course this is in Lancaster...

I don't think you really understand the hipster thing if your interpretation of it was that "it was cool to not be cool."  Hardly.  Sure they would adamantly deny it, but those hipsters were OBSESSED with being cool / chic / stylish / whatever you want to call it.  It reminded me of the generation Xers who were "oh so mature" with their lattes and laptops.

And I don't know what is 'traditionally' cool, but I suspect that is a highly subjective issue on which you would find as many opinions as there are a%%holes.

I know Millennials who have the stereotypical "hipster" look and others who are super "preppy" and wear well fitting, expensive clothes. I don't think these stereotypes about entire generations apply today nearly as much as they did for previous generations, because we no longer live in a world where people are getting all of their media from the same sources anymore, so people aren't all picking up on the same trends and trying to imitate or rebel against the same celebrities. I think young people (Millennials and Generation Z) have a wide variety of political viewpoints, but the one thing that seems to be really dying off is the social conservatism. Young people generally don't care what other people do as along as it doesn't hurt other people / society as a whole... which goes against current Republican policies that attempt to preserve "traditional American values."

PSA: Always remember to close your weird hentai browser tabs before posting selifes during an anti-Fox News Twitter tirade:

Newsweek’s Kurt Eichenwald was just looking at tentacle porn for his family

http://www.avclub.com/article/newsweeks-kurt-eichenwald-was-just-looking-tentacl-256527

Perhaps you were all geared up for some details around the “salacious and unverified” rumors James Comey was supposed to discuss at today’s Senate hearing, but instead got several hours of sober testimony on mostly established information. Just as the world was ready to breathe a sigh of disappointment, though, centrist media pundit Kurt Eichenwald (of Vanity Fair, MSNBC, and Newsweek fame) hopped on Twitter to inform the world of his interest in tentacle porn. In what was part of a larger attack on bowtie-wearing fuckstick Tucker Carlson, Eichenwald sent an image of his computer screen:

If you remember, Eichenwald doesn't have the best past when it comes to weird sexual deviant type behavior:

Coulter wrote a whole book about how the cult of victimhood is ruining America. 19 tweets & counting abt the tragedy of having to move seats

^It looks like Delta was trying to allow a family to sit together. Ann had an aisle seat. I'm guessing she flipped out because they stuck her in a middle seat between two strangers.  Hopefully their story comes out tomorrow. Delta said it was the same row.
I pity any service industry person that encounters that bag of bs.

Congratulations to Ann Coulter on being so awful that people are actually siding with an airline.

You'd boycott because she had to sit in a different seat?  Special snowflake indeed.

The Coulter - Delta thing is so hysterically ironic.  Someone who has made a career out of lashing out at anyone who plays what she calls the 'victim card'.... well, at least anyone who is not white and Christian.... throws this kind of hissy fit because she was forced to move seats?  And she has whipped all of her creampuff followers into such a tizzy (not that it is difficult to do) that they actually want to boycott Delta over this.

She did play this all wrong - she should have taken a note from David Dao and refused to move. That strategy not only resulted in internet fame and mass public outrage, but a huge settlement. Doing the adult thing and moving, then following up with a complaint to the company about your unfair treatment is clearly the wrong move.

David Dao was bumped from the flight altogether.  That's much different than a minor inconvenience of having to sit in a different seat on the same flight.

Try again.

^^Taking a picture of the woman who was in the seat and then posting it to her twitter account, which is full of frothing at the mouth creampuffs, is definitely wrong.  Take issue with Delta all you want.  Go ahead and cry about it.  Play the victim card.  I really don't care.  In fact, it provides me with some comedic relief considering the source.  But covertly taking that picture and posting it is a POS move.

If I were in Delta's marketing department, I would hope that Coulter boycotts the airline for her perceived slight.  I would then begin an advertising campaign guaranteeing everyone an Ann Coulter free flying experience.

If you're bigger (she is 6') and have any degree of claustrophobia, middle seats can be a lot worse than people might think.

She actually did the right thing, and Delta's being petty.
