Springfield (pop: 64,132) is a city of contrast. From the architecturally impressive south, north, and east sides, to the decayed areas, abandoned factories, and shotgun homes, to the quiet yet interesting downtown, Springfield is the American story of rise and fall because of industry. The city is coming back and are revitalizing its neighborhoods including a Frank Lloyd Wright house. The city is very cultured with art museums, universities, and wonderful park system. Sharing with Dayton a metropolitan area of around 1.1 million, the immediate area is around 200,000 total.
