McConnelsville (pop: 1,676) is the county seat of Morgan County. Along with neighboring Malta across the Muskingum River, serve as the hub of their county. The downtown is very quaint with a rather large opera house and county courthouse. The Blue Bell Diner is the town's secret gem.
