Huntington (pop: 51,475) is West Virginia's second largest city, behind Charleston. It is the hub city in the Tri-Cities metropolitan area, which has around 289,000 people. The home of Marshall University, Huntington has a very vibrant downtown, full of theaters, restaurants, and shops (the city feels larger than what it really is, which is impressive). Sitting directly across from Chesapeake, Ohio, Huntington is linear, east-west, along the Ohio River and has a beautiful cable-stayed bridge, the Veterans Memorial Bridge along with an impressive pre-WWII skyline and an art museum.
