Old North St. Louis was once an independent city. The historic neighborhood has been through the worst of urban decline, and has miraculously survived, albeit a little tattered. Today, Old North is enjoying a huge resurgence thanks to dedicated residents, rehabbers, and historic tax credits. Definitely one of the neighborhoods to watch in St. Louis over the next several years.
