Illinois is the most populous Midwestern state and fifth most populous state overall. A state of 13 million, it is the Land of Lincoln and is the home of, well, Chicago. Illinois has wonderful smaller towns such as Galena and Alton, mid-sized cities such as Peoria and Springfield, and, well, Chicago. Granted the state is characterized as flat and having lots of corn, the southern portion of the state is blessed in wonderful topography while the shoreline of Lake Michigan is very pleasant. The Land of Lincoln welcomes all!
