Wilmington (pop: 72,644) is Delaware's largest city and metropolitan area at around 500,000. This hub city is the home of major credit card companies and Dupont, the city is full of historical districts, beautiful valleys and rivers, and close proximity to other major Northeast cities. It is shared in the Philadelphia region though it likes to differentiate itself from its larger neighbor. Wilmington's downtown is rather large and clean while the Brandywine Zoo, Ft. Christina Monument, Delaware Contemporary Arts Center, and the Grand Opera House are great attractions for the city.
