Youngstown
Youngstown...ah...Youngstown. What a fascinating city. The city of about 80,026 and a metropolitan area of nearly 600,000 and including Warren and Sharon (Pennsylvania), a consolidated metropolitan area of about 716,000, is the story of America. The city relied on the steel industry and sadly fell with the steel industry. The downtown still has a gorgeous collection of pre-WWII buildings in remarkable condition, the Butler Museum of Art is fantastic for a city the size of Youngstown, Youngstown State is still very active, and the metropolitan area is still fairly large for being so quiet. The city has a long way to bounce back from its battles and is still fairly decayed but it is a treasure in architecture and has had a very rich past. Hopefully, the future is blessed for the city.
