Columbus
Columbus, the state capital of Ohio, is a metropolis of 2 million people and nearly 740,000 within the city limits, making it the 15th largest city in the country. The city ranges from sprawled subdivisions, majestic mansions, 70's bungalows, 19th century rowhomes and town houses, German cottages, to wonderful city parks, ample recreation and a vibrant, young, progressive culture. The 211 sq mi city grew a modest 12% from 1990 to 2000 and is constantly touted as one of the "newer" cities of this region, drawing in young professionals. Though the city is youthful and vibrant, the city's neighborhoods are old, clean, and urban. A city of contrast, Columbus is forever changing yet reusing the past.
