The German Village is one of the most beautiful and unique neighborhoods in the city, in Ohio, and the country. Due south of downtown Columbus, the 233 acre German Village is a step back in time to the 19th Century. An orange brick neighborhood of cottages, rowhouses, and cozy boutiques, it is the home of the very first Max N' Erma's, the gorgeous Book Loft store, Schmidt's German Restaurant, and various other restaurants, cafes and stores. The centerpiece of the German Village is Schiller Park, a "Central Park" for the southern neighborhoods of Columbus.   Â
