Prostitution in Cincinnati
« on: April 08, 2009, 05:07:41 PM »
Prostitution in Cincinnati

While attending the University of Kentucky, I majored in Information Science. More specifically, I had a fond love for data mining and analysis. While I do not have a ton of data on prostitution to pull from, I was able to come up with several telling features that will be expanded upon in future releases on the series regarding prostitution in Cincinnati.

In the future, I'd like to examine other cities, but I'll need your help in locating where the prostitutes congregate!

Where are they located at? While Avondale may take the credit for having the most prostitutes, Over-the-Rhine and downtown have a varied selection. I only profiled a specific locale for one night at the end of a work week, so I suspect that during the average workday, Avondale may produce more prostitutes. A lively scene on a Friday night will draw a larger clientèle to downtown and Over-the-Rhine (e.g. Main Street), rather than Avondale, so the data may be skewed towards that.

I was straining to find prostitutes in some neighborhoods, such as some of the fringe, more suburban neighborhoods. Likewise, prostitutes in the more expensive, affluent neighborhoods were all but impossible to find. In the more wealthy neighborhoods, they may be classified more as escorts that command higher prices.

Average hotness by price? While you can find the hottest females (and males) at very high prices, you can find decent values with median hotness by paying far less.

What is the best bang for your buck? Queensgate and Sedamsville have the best value, in terms of averaging out hotness and price. Avondale and Camp Washington both score very low on the price, but the hotness also suffered. On the flip side, Mt. Adams and Oakley both score very high on the hotness, but the price was outrageous.

Total and average price by locale vary widely. While I only found one prostitute in Oakley and Mt. Adams each, they commanded high prices in comparison to Avondale and Over-the-Rhine.

More details on this soon! Stay tuned.

so you drove around the city soliciting prostitutes making notes about their attractiveness and cost?

and for a next step you'd like to do the same thing in other cities?

this seems like more than a research project to me.

Hottness of a prostitute... hmm
In the Mt. Healthy/Colerain area 2 asked me for a ride to walmart in colerain from the self car wash at gailbrath/pippin. They gave me a sapp story about being from indiana and car broke down . I said sure.. so they got in... and the chunky one with a missing front tooth asked me if I was a cop and if I wanted to have fun. the better looking one sat in the back and said nothing. They think just becuase a guy drive a sports car he wants to pay for "fun"..

No, I actually went out late at night, on Friday to keep it consistent, and asked prostitutes what they charged. No money was ever exchanged, and I revealed what I was doing (e.g. a school project), and didn't get a bit of grief from the ~100 recipients that I asked.

Hotness factor is my personal opinion. Missing limbs (thank you ColDayMan) and teeth knock it down a lot; meth face and cracked out knock it down some (unless they are that deranged); massively fake bits knock it down some (there is some excessive traits that are quite bad).

Part two comes tomorrow!

Average price by ethnicity: Whites often commanded higher prices than blacks in nearly all locales, sans Sedamsville and downtown. Queensgate, both ethnicities were tied. Asians commanded far higher values, but I only encountered a handful, so there was not enough data to make a true comparison.

Ethnicity by neighborhood: Blacks were more typically found in Over-the-Rhine, Evanston and Avondale, whereas whites were more typically found in downtown and Lower Price Hill, where a large Appalachian community exists.

Hotness index: A hotness index determines the hotness of a particular ethnicity based on the hot factor. Whites were typically hotter in Walnut Hills than Camp Washington, for example. Blacks had a higher hotness factor in Over-the-Rhine and Avondale than in Lower Price Hill.

Note that the hotness index is not indicative of overall hotness. Over-the-Rhine had larger cumulations of hotter blacks, but lagged in comparison to blacks in other neighborhoods.

Well, I suspect that the super-hot individuals were cops, so I passed. I also suspect that if you are super-hot, then you'll generally have more money and would upgrade to an escort service - not prostitution.

I should do Craigslist next!

Appearantly, Norwood has a prostitution/hooker issue now too. It seems to congregate around the Dana Avenue corridor, and along Montgomery Road between Dana and Surrey Square.

Distribution of average price by drug features: One can easily discern an individual by the drugs they use. This graph presents the average price for those on meth, crack or on no discoverable drugs. Taking away the externalities of Mt. Adams and Oakley, the highest drug users seem to come from downtown, followed by Walnut Hills and Queensgate.

Distribution of drug features: Another view of a distribution of drug features, separated by crack, meth and none -- although the latter may not include more hidden drug usage, such as heroin.

And finally... a view of the average price for those on crack, meth or on neither, separated by locale.
