Damn this streaky team!  f$&k!!!

I've gassed up my car and I'm offering my passenger seat to Claussen.  Let's head to Louisville.  Or, if you'd prefer, I'll head up I-75 to Dayton.  This guy is never going to get better.  How many more times can we trot this loser out there?  How many more times is he going to give some bullsh!t interview about how he "didn't feel good out there"?  Sometimes I wish baseball was like the NFL, where there were no guaranteed contracts.

Today's game was just terrible.  Nice bullpen.  I always knew that our "average age of 42" bullpen would fall into these long spells of ineffectiveness.  I believe Hammond hit a high of 72 mph on the gun today.

Good news...Rick White has been designated for assignment.  Goodbye.  Let's do the same with Burns.  This guy couldn't get ME out.

Somebody please help us.

I went to games at Riverfront where the Cubs fans were 50/50 with us, because they couldn't get tix to their own ballpark.  One time a Cubs fan tripped and spilled an entire beer in my lap.  Everyone around us razzed the Cubs fans for "not being able to hold their liquor".  It was hilarious.

RV, I can do you one better. We bought a 20 game package this season and went to our fourth game Tuesday night, the fourth loss we've seen. On top of that, from our package, we gave one set away and traded one for Dragons tickets; they were both losers too. Five (7) times is a charm (I hope).

Oh, and the Dragons lost too.

Gaa...say, maybe the problem is that you and I are home team bad luck bringers...maybe we should try to catch games in other cities...

Monte, what happened to your Mets tonight? Looks like their "steller" offense was almost shut down and on top of this ... Arroyo pitching a complete game.  :-D

I like it, I like it...

It kind of sucks that we're getting the Royals when they've actually started to wind a couple of games and when we had such a sh!tty homestand last time.

Ah, f$&k that, why am I being so negative?  I feel pretty confident we'll turn that trend around.  KC ain't sh!t.

I think the reds Ownership is dumb. They are letting this season goto waist. They should have gotten bullpen help months ago. What the hell are they waiting for???? We could be 7 games up by now.

Might it be because finding bullpen help is like looking for a needle in a haystack?
Or better yet, they have nothing of worth to trade for pitching (the fire sellers will want prospects. Last I heard, the Reds have few of those).

The good news is we've got some pitching talent in AA.  Homer Bailey had a no-hitter going through 6 innings last night, they pulled him for a series of relievers, and they kept the no-hitter going into the 9th, when the last guy gave up a solo home run.  Dan O'Brien at least did something right the last couple years...and Castellini bought a Boston single-A affiliate this spring, didn't he?  That's all extremely welcome news.

I'd rather patiently watch Yan and Shackleford lose some games for us this season than deal away the future for a couple years of a decent reliever...making a little noise this season is a hell of a lot of fun, but let's face it - we can compete in the NL Central, not in the NL, and certainly not against the AL.  This season is for fun - but with the right decisions and a growing farm system, I want to see a dynasty.

2006 is not 1975, or even 1972 - but hopefully it's 1969!

Nobody is going to be able to pick up a quality reliever in June.  Wait until late July.

quality relievers are a myth, out of all the RP's in the leauge, probably less than 20% are consitent from year to year. Hell, exclude the "lefty specialists" and mariano rivera, and you are down to 13% percent. (wait, are we talking relievers or closers, or does relievers imply/include closers?)

Relievers include Closers, set-up, middle, and mop ups.
Quality relievers usually only mean closers and set-ups.  You don't trade for middle or mop ups (unless they are there to fill in a deal)

That was great to see my favorite team blow it.. I am not gonna lie, I do not like the Reds, but once this series is done, I hope they can win the central, because that NL sucks, and at least you guys got an offense which can do something in the playoffs.

As far as my indians... o what a sad year!

Hmm...although, we've played two more games than they have...so we're tied from a Games Back perspective, but they still have the percentage edge...so maybe the fact that we've frickin' owned them this season doesn't come into play, and we're still ever-so-slightly behind them...

I can now say that I have seen the Reds win at home this year! What a slow, sad game in 1-7 innings, but 8th and 9th were great! Dunn's last two days have changed my mind on him. The fireworks were great, however, the ones in August last year, with movie music in the back, were better!

Ummm,O.K.
Have you even been paying attention to what the ownership has done this year?
Castellini obviously has picked the right man for the GM job in Krivsky. I have never seen a GM for the Reds work this much magic in such a short time.
Castellini has always said that he would spend the money to improve the team if they were still in contention after the All-Star break, which it appears they will be.
I don't blame the ownership or Krivsky for not pulling off a deal for bullpen help if there's nothing out there. Bullpen help is hard to come by all of a sudden and noone is going to be willing to trade away a reliable reliever without getting someone better in return. I think the Reds only hope here is bringing up some young guys from the Minors and cross your fingers that something clicks.

To call the Reds ownership dumb is pretty much a dumb comment in itself at this point.

I was about to leave the game last night after the first out of the 9th inning, I got so excited that I almost fell down two rows.
I have tickets to the next two games and I would appreciate if the Reds didn't spot the Indians 8 runs again.

Oh and another Reds bullpen note.
If you guys haven't heard.
They designated Chris Hammond for assignment, so he is gone now.
They recalled Shackelford from the Minors to take his place.
