True - but they'd need a developer as a partner

I've heard some murmurings (word?) that a developer was eyeing up (and close to announcing) a deal for some new construction apartments in the parking lot across the street from the theatres in Playhouse square.  I also recall hearing about the demo of the "playhouse square annex" building - which would tie this all together.  Could this by K&D?

That would be playhouse square RE
No they don't. Playhouse Square Real Estate (a separate entity from the Playhouse Square Foundation) IS a developer.

Out of all the news you will read this year, in five years i hope to look back on this is as the best.  A world class Development company across the lake just purchased the Arcade.  Can't wait to hear their plans for the building, It is in a perfect location to expand the destination community of east 4th street, and its unique architecture and unbelievably low asking price made this a no brainer imo.  Thanks Skyline

From what I have heard, the biggest drawback to this building are extremely extremely high Heating/Cooling costs.

That is pretty big news...  Incredibly good buy for them.  I'm anxious to see what they do with this gem...

I'm really just glad that someone like K&D didn't end up with it.

Heres the story with a couple of updates..  Not much detail, but it sounds good so far...

Blutrich indicated that Skyline will put money into the property, though he said it's too early to discuss details. The company owns several historic properties, including the Le Meridien King Edward hotel in downtown Toronto.

"We hope that we'll be able to bring some of our enthusiasm, expertise and funds to revamp the current situation and make the hotel, for the long-term, profitable, the hotel and Arcade," he said.

The additional 20 officers will be paid from the increase in income tax revenue to be collected from construction workers and other hires involved in the casino, medical mart and Inner Belt construction, said Andrea Taylor, a spokeswoman for the mayor. The casino opening in late March and a high occupancy rate in downtown apartments also will provide additional taxes, Taylor said.

It's a result of new projects/construction, but please discuss at:

This is right outside to what I would consider Tremont or Ohio City, so I'll put it here.

Very cool story:

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate thread to post this.  Below is a list of all under construction, proposed, planning etc projects in Cleveland.  This list is from a Cleveland Development Discussion forum on www.city-data.com.  The list is compiled by forum member Costello_Musicman and is one hell of a list.  There are other lists on UO I believe but I'm not sure they are as in depth as this list.

Not all the links came through on my post.  Visit the link below to access embedded links with articles and websites on each development.

The list is compiled by forum member Costello_Musicman and is one hell of a list.

He's also a member over here, but I'll let him out his identity himself.

Well given his tendency to makes similar lists on UO (which is much appreciated) - I'm guessing MurrayHill??

Well, what can I say...I am the "list-maker."  I have a very structured view on things, so my first instincts are to make breakdowns of information -- most likely a carry over from my days in the military.

BUT, alas here is my most recent list with functioning links for more info:

Well given his tendency to makes similar lists on UO (which is much appreciated) - I'm guessing MurrayHill??

OK, it's not quite a building project, but I believe google maps just today added 45 degree views of Cleveland, and the views are from last summer only a few months ago, so much more updated than the general aerials.

1.  I googled and googled, but cannot find out what is being built off 90 right by the sign business ~E 130ish, there is a lot of equipment there and they cut down a ton o trees...
2.  Last year (first week of June) 200 PS was doing a demo/test of a new lighting on top, but I haven't seen it since, anyone have an explanation or idea about that?  Thanks...

For question 1, are you referring to this:

(I love the new 45 degree angle shots from Google, BTW).

If so, I believe it is the entrance shaft for the Euclid Creek Storage Tunnel for NEORSD.  Note the location of the far west drop shaft:

A random question:

I was doing some research about the building at the entrance to the Loraine Carnegie Bridge and found the plans for the Western Reserve Fire Museum dating all the way back to like... 2005?  Whats the current status with this?

I know they created a temporary Fire Museum at Tower City next to Brooks Bros. for a while at the end of last year.  Can't tell you more than that.

High-end Apartments Coming to Beachwood
23 Jan 2012, 3:14 pm
By Adrian Maties, Associate Editor

Hundreds of new apartments may come to the Cleveland suburb of Beachwood in the near future. Two property developers have already made plans.

Apartment developer and operator Goldberg Cos. plans to redevelop a site across the street from Beachwood Place Mall to add a fourth building to its luxury Four Seasons I, II and III apartments at 26600 George Zeiger Drive. The rent for a three-bedroom unit in the luxury complex is $3,000 a month.

If the city of Beachwood approves the plan, Goldberg will start work on a four-story building with 132 units adjoining Four Seasons III. The fourth building in the luxury complex will be constructed on a site that has been left unused since the late 1980s.
