Topic: recent cellphone quirks?

two things i notice lately using the iphone:

one is the ohio discussion forums didnt show up today until i clicked and pulled them down which was unusual. i only noticed that today might be a one-time thing?

more bothersome is that when i clik on the far right on the main forum threads pg to see an unread thread it opens up like two or three pages back instead of on the last most recent page. that happens often using my iphone and is very disconcerting. thx richncincy if u can address that one!

I've added a new mobile theme for the forum.  So when you access the forum via your iphone, android or blackberry, you should be automatically redirected to the mobile theme.  If you wish no to use it, there is a link a the bottom of the page that says Go the the full site.

Is there a way to use the old mobile theme? The new one is nice, but I noticed it tends to lag on my blackberry.

I like the new mobile forum. A lot.

Though a few days ago I tried the mobile version of the main site and it didn't work very well. In particular, browsing pictures was painfully slow. Worse than just browsing the full site on my tablet.

You know what? I take that back, I realized I am just using the full version of the forum page, but thought it was a new mobile site because the skin is different than on my desktop.

As a rule, I hate mobile sites. Maybe for a cellphone they are necessary, but on my 10-inch tablet, full sites work just fine.

I agree. The mobile site is much better for smart phones but the full site is fine for tablets.

It does that because all post from that point forward are new posts since you last viewed the thread.

could you make it open on the most recent post page instead?

I guess that's a preference, but it would be my request. especially since i mostly look in from my phone lately.

i don't like it because i want to see the very latest comments first, not the last thing i said or looked at.

i can see how its better as is for people who are following a thread very very closely tho.

mostly i am just glad to hear it's not an iphone quirk.

I hate the version of UrbanOhio that pops up on my Blackberry. I hate it so much I don't even bother looking at the forum anymore while I'm on the go. It's difficult to navigate, very sensitive to scrolling that it activates pages I don't want, or its not sensitive enough that I try to scroll and nothing happens. So I try harder and end up on pages I don't want to see. Plus, the "last page" or "last message" feature doesn't work if I've already looked at last the message or page, yet I want to go back and post something new. Arrrghhh!!
