Cincinnati: Reds Opening Day
« on: April 06, 2009, 12:16:00 PM »
Yesterday I was at work. It was sunny, 70 degrees and I was helping to do some work on Uncle Rando's favorite Kings Island ride: The Log Flume. Last night the rain came and today I found myself shivering in the upper deck of Great American Ballpark as the Reds played a great game, but ultimately lost to the New York Mets:

Despite the sh!tty weather today was a great day and it was good to see some baseball. And despite the Reds loss at least we weren't embarrassed like the Cleveland Indians were today...  :-D

Btw, new scoreboard is AWESOME.

A few more photographs from opening day can be seen in the latest post at www.queencitydisco.com

Thanks for checking these out.

I would say this made it feel like spring.........but that would be lying.  Still, great set of fun B&W, and thanks for bringing us the sights!

I love it when people come into a message board and immediately begin to mix it up.  I mean, Jesus, at least say hello!  Do you walk into a room full of strangers, pick a random woman, and tell her she's fat? - buildingcincinnati

Nice shots, I'm always pissed every year because I'm always stuck in some DAAP studio reviewing a project of some sort, having to get score updates on a cell phone.

I've missed opening day for the same reason the past 4 years.

I wish my flight could have come in one day earlier so that I could have taken part in the Opening Day festivities.  If I were on council I would put forth a resolution to make Reds Opening Day an officially recognized city holiday.

I've only been to one Opening Day game, but it still is one of my favorite days of the year.  Cincinnati really comes together and you can feel the history of the city and the Reds coming through during the parade and the festivities.  The game I went to was 3 year ago, and it was a sunny, 78 degree day, so I'm a bit disappointed to see snow on opening day.  They should push it back a week or two.

great set.  The only openind day game I went to was when the umpire died behind the plate back in 1995 I believe.  I was 10 and was scarred for life.  I choked on my hot pretzel when it happened.
