Cleveland Rail Question
« on: December 07, 2008, 06:45:59 AM »
I know literally nothing about the transportation in Cleveland, so hopefully I don't look like a complete idiot......

Is there a passenger rail that goes through Cleveland that goes to.. lets say.. New York City or Chicago?

And if there is, can someone give me a website that has information on this?

Thanks,
Mike :)

The website is amtrak.com

I know there's rail service that goes to both, but the departure/arrival times are ridiculous. If you feel like getting to the station at 6 am and arriving back in Cleveland around 2 am, be my guest.

exactly. i've ridden it in both directions, both to ny & to chicago.

frankly, it's much easier & cheaper to fly. unfortunately.

^There's also the option (not necessarily a faster/more convenient option, but a cheaper option for sure) of taking MegaBus from Cleveland to Chicago.

According to their schedules, Megabus is actually faster and more convenient .. and cheaper, depending on how early you book.

Looking at Amtrak, it would take 7 hours for a trip from Cleveland to Chicago, leaving only at 2:47 am or 3:45 am, costing $49 (if the trip took place tomorrow). Megabus takes 5.5 hours, leaves at 9:15 am, 5:30 pm and 11:59 pm, costing $42.
