Here are some pictures I took this afternoon while checking out the Cleveland Trust Rotunda, plus some random shots I took. Enjoy.

It's going to be a shame when they demo the tower and accidentally let it fall on the rotunda.

Not a stupid question at all, I wouldn't know the details of a lot of Cincy projects. The county purchased both buildings and want to make a consolidated county HQ. The tower and Trust building are separate. The tower does not meet the needs of the county because the floors are very small and they'd have to put a single department on multiple floors aka going against the whole purpose of the project.

With this...It seems like a LOT less space, especially when you consider they are consolidating operations. You would think more space is needed.

^ The county is not currently occupying the tower. Their offices are spread out over the county.

I don't think that tower ever housed Society Bank offices. I'm pretty sure it was still Ameritrust when it was vacated. Society Bank had already consolidated its own scattered offices around downtown into the 57-story, 1991-built tower on Public Square when it merged with Ameritrust. Ameritrust staff were also relocated to the Society Center Tower. Then Society merged with KeyBank of Albany, NY and Key relocated its headquarters to Cleveland and kept the KeyBank name. Society Center Tower was then renamed Key Tower.

Correct, the Ameritrust tower was vacated in 1994.

It is too much for me to keep up with...all the stuff going on in both Cincy and Cleveland that is. Throw in the quality stuff going on in Cbus and you have way too much information for me to keep up with. I stay quite involved with Cincy (obviously)...there are tons of Cleveland forumers on here that take care of the Cleveland stuff. But yes, there does seem to be quite a bit of drama involved. I'll keep better tabs.
